Our
Story

Welcome to Aquaterra, where tradition meets innovation in the heart of Portugal's rich agricultural landscape.

Origins

Aquaterra was born from a family of producers with a rich heritage in the agricultural sector and investments in crops such as cork oak forests, olive and walnut groves, cereals, and vegetables.

Founded in 2021, we understood that a new kind of farming was needed to blend the best of finance, technology, and agriculture.

→ One that protects and preserves ecosystems.
→ One that is data-driven and efficient.
→ One that incorporates the latest irrigation tools
and practices.
→ One that provides healthy returns for investors, fair wages for farmers, and quality fruits for consumers.

To achieve this, we set up a business. Bought thousands of hectares of land in Portugal. Hired a driven, skilled team. And set out to revolutionize the agricultural industry.

6,000+

Nestled in the picturesque Alcácer do Sal region, we oversee six farms that encompass 6,000+ hectares. We draw upon scientific and industry expertise to meticulously examine each terrain allocated for planting and devise strategic plans to enhance the land’s environmental, economic, and social outcomes.

Present
Allocate 70% of our land to nature-based solutions

Aquaterra currently focuses on the production of avocados and tangerines, committing over 70% of its land to nature-based solutions that preserve local ecological corridors and safeguard native habitats.

Future

We see ourselves as steadfast custodians of our fertile land, committed to fostering a harmonious relationship between agriculture and nature to build a climate-resilient future that benefits all.

Our track record

In just a few years, we have achieved unprecedented growth, hiring over 70 employees, planting more than 1,000 hectares of land, and delivering our first harvest at the end of 2024.

As a dynamic and passionate team with strong organizational and financial expertise, we understand how to streamline operations effectively while always adhering to the latest environmental standards.
