ABOUT AQUATERRA
A sustainable agriculture investor, asset manager and operator
Aquaterra is a sustainable agriculture investor, asset manager and operator with a portfolio of over 6,500 hectares of water-rich farmland in Portugal. It focuses on regenerative agriculture and sustainable forestry projects that aim to deliver returns and impact at scale by producing high-quality fruits while enhancing environmental outcomes for future generations.
Aquaterra currently owns, manages, and operates a portfolio of 6 farmland properties in Portugal covering 6,500 hectares of land, growing avocados and tangerines on 30% of the area, while the remaining 70% is fully dedicated to protecting and restoring forest and biological systems.
HOW WE DO IT
Enhancing
natural capital
Our water-rich farmland is managed according to a natural capital strategy that prioritizes the long-term sustainability and resilience of our natural capital assets, including soils, forests, water, and biodiversity. We protect the productivity and capacity of natural systems, promote the regeneration of native species, and limit agricultural production to less than 30% of our land using a discontinuous configuration to avoid, minimize or balance any significant bio-physical effects. The remaining 70% is fully dedicated to conservation and regeneration of habitats and species.
Impact-driven
approach to agriculture
Through an owner-operator model, we are able to employ an impact-driven approach to our agricultural operation, emphasizing regenerative farming practices, social impact in rural areas, and climate change mitigation, creating a net positive impact on the environment and communities.
Mission
We strive to deliver high quality fruits that are sustainably grown, creating a net positive impact on the environment and on the communities we serve.

Our Story: Investing in Water-Rich Farmland for a Sustainable Future
Aquaterra Group was established by two families with a long-standing background in the agricultural sector, who shared a vision that water-rich farmland represents a unique investment opportunity not only to generate long-term value from the finite and essential resources, but also to manage them in a manner that improves those resources for future generations.
